In General bipolar transistors are used for the purpose of amplification. Transistor acts as amplifier only when it is operated in active region.
Then for a transistor to operate in active region the emitter base junction must be forward biased and the collector base junction must be reverse biased.
Then for a transistor to operate in active region the emitter base junction must be forward biased and the collector base junction must be reverse biased.
