In an NPN transistor, when positive bias is applied to the base emitter junction, the equilibrium is disturbed between the thermally generated carriers and the repelling electric field of the n-doped emitter depletion region.

This allows thermally excited electrons to inject from the emitter into the base region. These electrons diffuse through the base from the region of high concentration near the emitter towards the region of low concentration near the collector.

The electrons in the base are called minority carriers because the base is doped p-type, which makes holes the majority carrier in the base.

Electrons and holes are charged particles. They will become carriers when the device is biased. So the answer is (a) electrons.

When the device is biased charge particles become charged carriers till then they remain charged particles.

No, it's wrong.

Because they are not intrinsic semiconductor so hey will have some potential to move but not exceeding the barrier potential.

@Esk Kishore.

Its hole is majority carriers in the base.

When transistor is not working then majority charge carriers are always holes so you must be clear with this question that how you are going to be answer of this question.

In transistor all major current are flow due to majority carrier so base is p type it has majority charge carrier is holes, so the answer should be holes.

The answer is electrons. Because in NPN transistors current flow starts from the base. So the base has n. So the answer is electrons.

Holes is the answer because the base holes present in NPN transistor and PNP transistor where the base electrons present.

Yeah, The given answer is wrong because in NPN transistor base is p and in p base, the holes are majority carrier.

How is it possible?

Because three is no any condition of biasing in question, so the answer will be holes.

In an npn transistor, majority charge carriers in base is holes and minority charge carriers are electrons.
