As seven segment display has 8 LED's[a,b,c,d,e,f,g and a decimal point dp].... and is driven by BCD.

So the i/p's of this BCD will have the following result on seven segment display,

0000-no o/p
0001-a
0010-a,b
0011-a,b,c
0100-a,b,c,d
.....
.....
....
1000-a,b,c,d,e,f,g & dp.
i.e., all LED's are lit up.

Decimal of binary 1000 is 8.

As we can know, there are total 8 LEDs in seven segment. (one for point).
So in number 8, all LEDs will glow up.

BCD input lines= 1000= 8 decimal.

Output lines= a=1 b=1 c=1 d=1 e=1 f=1 g=1.

BCD has 1000 input, so an output of the decoder is 11111111.

But the center g segment will not glow to denote 8.
