18V-3mA(Rd)-6V = 0.
Rd = 4k ~ 4.13k ohms.

i.e.
Vds = Vgs - Vth
=> 6 - 3 = 3 v.
Hence, Rd = (Vdd - Vds)/Ids.
= 3 Kohm.
Vds = Vgs - Vth

This is a amplifier, so saturation region.
In saturation region Vds = Vgs-Vt.
= 6-3 = 3v.
By kvl 18v = Id*Rd+Vds.
Therefore Rd = 5K ~4.13k.
Might be like this.
