Nominal value means nothing if our resistor value 3 digits means tolerance value 5 % , 4 digits means tolerance value 1%.

Red-2,red -2,orange 10^3,
=22*10^3,
=22000.
Nominal value is 1% ,bcoz resistor value is 4 digits.
The resistor value is 22000.

By using colour codes, we can calculate the resistance value without multimeter and colour code is the best choice to calculate resistance.

(First color code * 10 + Second color code) * 10^(Third color code) +/- (gold[5%] / silver[10%] / no color[20%]).

No its not 10% gold is 5%. why is it called as nominal value? Does it mean v shud not consider the tolerance??

Red ---- Red ---- Orange ---- gold.
2 ---- 2 ---- 3 zeros ---- 5% tolerance.

So,
22000 +-5%.
Ans= 22000.

Sorry I did not understand how the answer came. Please can any one give me correct explanation.

red =2
red =2
0range =10^3
gold =10%
so value=22,000 ± 10%

Explain more about nominal value of different colours and also equate it.

Why to use the colour code only for resistance? please anybody explain.

Yes if anybody knows the formula to calculate please post here.
