When the switch is closed that's when the circuit is complete and current will flow through but when the switch is open the circuit is not complete so there will be no flow of current.

Current is always going close path only.

When circuit is open current not flow, because its not have any path to flow;and when switch is closed the path is created that's why current flows.

When circuit is closed current passing through the circuit. Without any voltage source no current flows through the circuit.
