Electric charge carriers and ions are required to pass current from a substance. Insulators are non-conductor of electricity. Insulators cannot conduct electricity because they do not posses free electrons or charge carriers and ions. Ionic compounds in solid state are insulator. The forbidden energy gap is very large in insulators as compared to conduction band. Moreover, some insulators like ionic compounds can conduct electricity in molten or solution form due to the presence of free ions.

The answer may be semiconductor also why b/c in normal condition it doesn't allow to flow electrons. It allows electrons only when temp is critical temp & critical temp is not as a normal condition.

A material that does not conduct electrical current is known as an insulator. Paper, plastic, rubber, glass, and air are all good insulators. Although a vacuum is an insulator, it is not material.

But at normal condition semiconductor work as an insulator the answer should b semiconductor I think n as temperature increases it work as conductor. So why the answer is insulator.

Under normal conditions semiconductor also doesn't allow current through it.
It needs an external energy source.
So, the insulator and semiconductor both will be correct.

Insulator is a bad conductors of electricity ok. But the question is under normal condition only so then how it is possible? and what will happen obnormal condition?

Insulator becomes conductive when temperature goes beyond break down level so at high voltage level current flows through it that called abnormal condition.

Valence electron mean its contain a lot of free electron incase temperature increase electron move from valence band to conduction band.

At the normal temperature (it means room temperature) semiconductor act as an Insulator or conductors, so the answer is Insulator.

I know insulator is a bad conductor. But in question asking under "normal condition". I think answer is sc.
