The primary winding of a transformer has 110 V ac across it. What is the secondary voltage if the turns ratio is 8?
8.8 V
88 V
880 V
8,800 V
Answer: Option
Explanation:

V2/V1 = N2/N1

Turns ratio = N2/N1 = 8.

V2/110 = 8

V2 = 8 x 110

V2 = 880v.

V1 = 110V.
N1 = 8.
V2 = ?

K = 1/N1.
K = 1/8.
K = 0.125.

V2 = V1/K.
V2 = 110/8.
V2 = 880V.

Turns ratio=N2/N1
I1/I2=N2/N1=E2/E1
so,E2/E1=8:
E1=110
sub the E1 value
E2=8*110=880V

n2/n1=v2/v1.
so given that
n2/n1=8 & v1=110
there for v2=(n2/n1)*v1
so v2=880

The transformer's turns ratio formula is :-.

V(primary)/V (secondary) = N1/N2.

N1/N2 = V2/V1.

Given that N1/N2 = 8.

8*110 = 880 = V2.

So answer is "C".

The Answer is 13.75 or 8 is the transformation ratio not turn ratio.

880v is answer.

V2 = ( (N2/N1) *V1).

So V2 = 8*110.

V2 = 880.

v2 = turn ratio/v1
v2 = 110*8
v2 = 880 ans

Turns Ratio = 8, V1=110

V2 = 8*110 = 880.

N2/N1 =V1/v2
N2/110 =8
N2 =8*110
N2 =880v
