@Majid.

How come 3? Please explain that.

This question is just like the working of a Simple Rheostat.

For example our battery is being converted into 2-steps of voltages by taking the connection points (or simply taps). As given below;

Step-1: Take the conncection or tap just after the first resistance>>
So Vout=6 * 2.2k/(3*2.2)k= 2V.
Step-2: Take the tap just after 2 resistors i.e.
vout=6* (2.2k+2.2k)/(3*2.2)k= 4 V.
So sol is 2, 4 V.

It is given as threes resistors are used each with rating 2.2kohm.

From the question, we can infer that it is a voltage divider circuit( A 6 V battery output is divided down to obtain two output voltages)

voltage divider circuit consists of 2 impendence and the output is taken across from the mid point

so the three res can be in 2 different combination ( 2 res parallel , 1 load res) or (2 res in series and 1 load res).

2 res parallel and 1 load res ===>> (2.2*2.2)/(2.2+2.2) = 1.1 + the load res 2.2
vout = (z2 *vin)/(z2+z1) = (2.2 * 6)/(2.21.1) = 4 v
**** anothe case (2 res series + 1 load res)
2.2+2.2 = 4.4 and 1 load res 2.2,
vout = (2.2*6)/(2.2+4.4)= 2 v.

So 2v and 4 v are the possible outcomes of three res in different combination.

Please clarif it in simplest way.

@ Parneet, it will be 2 + 4 only.

Let us say all 3 resistors connected in series and connected to the source. We have a condition that it have only two taps in the load, so obviously we have 2.2 K Ohm and 4.4 K Ohm, and the voltage across them is 2 and 4 V respectively.

@Vimal I want to know If any option of 3+3 is given then what is the correct answer 3+3 or 2+6.

Two 2.2 reg are in parallel [1.1] and series with 3rd reg.[2.2] after this apply voltage divider rule.
