In series for two elements;.

Power P= (P1*P2)/(P1+P2).

Power additive in parallel circuit only to verify simply connect two different rating incandescent lamps in series, parllel and see the reading or wattmeter in each case.

Power is additive for parallel only.

Power is additive in case of parallel circuit not in series circuit.

Additive means?

Power is power, I mean that it hasn't direction, briefly the power additive at any case.

In series circuit powers are not additive but in parallel additive.

Because power=(i^2)R if each individual resistance is known. Current is same in series.
