Can anybody explain about the answer ?

1/R=1/R1+1/R2
=1/1600+1/120
=(120+1600)/(120*1600)
so that,
R=111.63

That is less than 120 ohm and greater than 100 ohm.

R = R1R2/ (R1+R2).

R = 1600*120/ (1600+120).

R = 111.62.

In parallel circuit, if 10 no of different rating resistance connected parallel in that total resistance should be less than smaller value resistance of the parallel circuit. So you can consider less than 120 ohms as your answer.
