In question it have "or" instead of "add". If the answer is correct then question have to be correction. Place 'add' in place of 'or'. Then will be it correct.

Here, either means to add. So (40% + 10%) = 50%.

In case of "Either" it requires addition. Since, we do know the percentage but don't know the number, so it signifies the number lies in between the percentage area.
