The following pie-chart shows the percentage distribution of the expenditure incurred in publishing a book. Study the pie-chart and the answer the questions based on it.
Various Expenditures (in percentage) Incurred in Publishing a Book

6.
If the difference between the two expenditures are represented by 18° in the pie-chart, then these expenditures possibly are
Answer: Option
Explanation:
| Central angle of 18° = | ![]() |
18 | x 100 | ![]() |
% of the total expenditure |
| 360 |
= 5% of the total expenditure.
From the given chart it is clear that:
Out of the given combinations, only in combination (d) the difference is 5% i.e.
| Paper Cost - Printing Cost | = (25% - 20%) of the total expenditure |
| = 5% of the total expenditure. |

@All.
To convert percentages to degrees multiply by 360.
And to convert Degrees to percentages divide by 360.

Here, They have not given option of binding and paper cost this is right but not in option n same goes to royalty and binding not in option, Printing and royalty, transportation and royalty,
So, only option is D is correct.

As the question states in degree we can directly find the degree
in order to convert percentage => degree multiply by 18/5.
Paper cost =25% therefore 25*18/5 =90.
Printing cost =20% therefore 20*18/5 =72.
90-72 = 18.

Paper cost = 25%.
Printing cost = 20%.
Paper in degree = 360*25/100 = 90°.
Binding in degree = 360*20/100 = 72°.
So,
90-72 = 18°.
Printing cost = 20%.
Paper in degree = 360*25/100 = 90°.
Binding in degree = 360*20/100 = 72°.
So,
90-72 = 18°.

I have a doubt. Please help me.
If option D is right, then transportation cost should be also 18° since it is in the middle of paper cost and printing cost. But when I am calculating it, I am getting result as -> transportation cost =360*(10/100)= 36°. Why it is being so?

Difference b/w royalty and paper cost is also 5% and given as option B. Why can't it be an answer?

@Mohit and @Rei.
Among the provided four options there is no such option like binding cost and royalty cost, hence our answer could be only option D.

From phrasing;
Royalty 15%.
Promotion Cost 10%.
(15/100 * 360) - (10/100 * 360) = 18%.
Royalty 15%.
Promotion Cost 10%.
(15/100 * 360) - (10/100 * 360) = 18%.
