The total amount of expenditures of the company is how many times of expenditure on research and development?

Let the total expenditures be Rs. *x*.

Then, the expenditure on Research and Development (R & D)

= Rs. (5% of *x*)

= Rs. | 5 | x x |
||

100 |

= Rs. | x |
. | ||

20 |

Ratio of the total expenditure to the expenditure on R & D

= | x |
||

x/20 |

= | 20 | . | ||

1 |

The whole expenditure is 100. Therefore, 100 is 5*20 times. Since R& D is 5%.

Let x be the total expenditure.

Let the total expenditure is t times the expenditure of R&D.

As per question, we have to find t such that x = t*(5/100)*x.

This implies x/((5/100)*x ) =t

This implies 100/5=t.

Therefore, t= 20.

Let the total expenditure is t times the expenditure of R&D.

As per question, we have to find t such that x = t*(5/100)*x.

This implies x/((5/100)*x ) =t

This implies 100/5=t.

Therefore, t= 20.
