IIT Bombay partnered with Tata Power through a Master Research Agreement (MRA) signed on August 17, 2026. The collaboration focuses on developing and commercialising next-generation clean energy technologies. Key research areas include smart grids, power electronics, energy storage, electric mobility, AI for power systems, digital grid technologies, cybersecurity, carbon capture, and the circular economy. The partnership aims to bridge the gap between laboratory research and large-scale commercial deployment while developing indigenous and scalable solutions to strengthen India’s energy security and support national decarbonization efforts.
