ISRO launched the HOPE (Himalayan Outpost for Planetary Exploration) mission in Ladakh on August 1, 2025, as part of its efforts to prepare for future human spaceflight under the Gaganyaan programme. The 10-day mission, located near Tso Kar at an altitude of 14,000 feet, simulates Moon and Mars-like conditions such as low oxygen, freezing night temperatures, and rocky terrain. This analogue environment helps researchers study the effects of isolation and extreme stress on human health and performance. BSNL has partnered with Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) to roll out India’s first 5G Captive Non-Public Network (CNPN) in the refinery sector. NISAR stands for NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar, a joint Earth observation mission between the American space agency NASA and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). This satellite is designed to use advanced synthetic aperture radar technology operating in dual bands—L-band and S-band—to study Earth's surface changes with high precision. It will monitor natural hazards, deformation, and environmental shifts like glacier movements and forest biomass changes. The AI-powered robot currently assisting astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) is named Cimon, which stands for Crew Interactive Mobile Companion. It functions as a mobile camera for real-time and recorded documentation and is uniquely engineered to float freely within the ISS. This innovative robotic assistant helps reduce stress and improve efficiency for astronauts by providing hands-free support and information during various tasks.
