Uttarakhand's Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, has announced the development of the Ganga and Sharda river corridors to enhance religious tourism and improve facilities for pilgrims. The successful export of 15,000 kg of GI-Tagged Dalle Chilly from Sikkim to the Solomon Islands highlights the unique identity and quality of this chilli, which is tied to its geographical origin. The GI tag ensures the authenticity of the product and its special characteristics. The export, organized by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has not only helped boost international trade but also increased farmer incomes in Sikkim, promoting the region’s agricultural products globally.

Kerala became the first state in India to establish a Senior Citizens Commission with the passing of the Kerala State Senior Citizens Commission Bill, 2025. Mizoram made history with the first-ever export of Anthurium flowers to Singapore. This export was a significant milestone for India’s floriculture sector, particularly for the North Eastern Region (NER). Facilitated by APEDA in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture, Government of Mizoram, the consignment of 1,024 cut flowers highlighted the state’s floriculture potential. The export not only boosts India’s agricultural exports but also provides economic benefits to local farmers, especially women. This achievement also underscores the growing role of Mizoram in the global floriculture market.

Meghalaya has taken a significant step towards reviving its coal mining industry by inaugurating its first scientific coal mining block, "Saryngkham-A", at Byndihati in East Jaintia Hills. This move marks a shift from the hazardous and unscientific rat-hole mining practices that were banned by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) in 2014. The new scientific coal mining approach prioritizes safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance.
