Odisha approved a proposal to revise the English spellings of 64 places across 26 districts to align them more closely with authentic Odia pronunciation and cultural identity. The initiative aims to preserve Odia Asmita by correcting colonial-era distortions in place names. Recommendations were made by a high-level committee headed by eminent Odia litterateur Pratibha Ray. Several well-known locations, including Cuttack, Balasore, and Angul, will receive revised spellings. Following approval, the state government will issue a gazette notification to the Ministry of Home Affairs, enabling updates across official records maintained by agencies such as the Survey of India, Indian Railways, and the Department of Posts.

Assam achieved a significant milestone in preserving its cultural heritage by securing GI tags for four traditional products: Karbi Anglong Handloom Products, Assam Bihu Pepa, Assam Bamboo Crafts, and Deuri Handloom Products. These products represent the state's rich traditions in weaving, music, handicrafts, and indigenous craftsmanship. The recognition helps protect these unique products from unauthorised use while promoting authentic regional producers. Supported by NABARD, the GI registration process strengthens market access for artisans and encourages sustainable livelihoods. With these additions, the number of NABARD-supported GI-certified products in Assam increased to 12, further enhancing the state's reputation as a centre of cultural diversity and traditional craftsmanship.

Mizoram emerged as the top-performing state in the digitisation of enumeration forms during the third phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The state achieved an impressive completion rate of 68.05%, securing the highest position among 16 states and 3 Union Territories. Several districts recorded exceptional performance, with Khawzawl, Champhai, and Serchhip all surpassing 90% completion. The state also achieved 99.90% distribution of enrolment forms and deployed 1,301 Block Level Officers (BLOs) to support the process. This achievement highlights Mizoram’s effective implementation of electoral digitisation initiatives and its commitment to improving election management and voter registration systems.

Telangana launched a state-wide breakfast scheme on June 15, 2026, benefiting students from pre-primary classes up to Class 12 in government schools and junior colleges. The first phase was implemented in 1,302 institutions, including 33 junior colleges, across eight districts through a centralised kitchen model. The scheme is being executed by the Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Trust and Manna Trust. To improve nutrition among students, the menu includes millet-based foods such as millet idli, millet upma, pongal, and ragi jawa, along with other breakfast items. Telangana also became the first state in India to extend a breakfast scheme to students up to Class 12, expanding beyond the coverage seen in most other states.

Uttar Pradesh launched the Mukhyamantri Shikshak Cashless Chikitsa Yojana to provide comprehensive healthcare coverage for teachers, education department employees, and their dependent family members. The scheme offers cashless medical treatment of up to ₹5 lakh annually through empanelled government and private hospitals. Around 3.5 lakh beneficiaries were identified for the initial rollout. The initiative is being implemented by the State Agency for Comprehensive Health and Integrated Services (SACHIS), which serves as the nodal agency for health insurance and cashless treatment programs in the state. A dedicated digital portal has also been developed to streamline beneficiary registration, card generation, and hospital integration for efficient service delivery.
