Maharashtra launched the ‘Majha Gaon, Arogyasampann Gaon’ initiative with a budget of ₹65.25 crore to improve rural healthcare delivery. The programme emphasises preventive healthcare, focusing on sanitation, clean drinking water, nutrition, and disease control, including mental health and lifestyle-related illnesses. It adopts a decentralised administrative structure with committees at state, district, and village levels to ensure effective implementation. Villages meeting specific health benchmarks are recognised as ‘Arogyasampann Gaon’. The initiative aligns with the broader objective of enhancing public health infrastructure and awareness, especially in rural areas, marking its launch on World Health Day.

Arunachal Pradesh is the location of the Kalai-II Hydro Electric Project, which has been approved with a significant investment of ₹14,105.83 crore. The project is situated in the Anjaw district on the Lohit River, a major tributary of the Brahmaputra. With a total installed capacity of 1200 MW, it is expected to generate substantial annual energy, contributing to the regional power supply. Implemented through a joint venture between THDC India Limited and the state government, the project also includes infrastructure development like roads and bridges, while providing economic benefits such as free power allocation to the state.

Telangana declared cancer a notifiable disease to strengthen its public health monitoring system. This move mandates all healthcare providers, including hospitals and diagnostic labs, to report cancer cases within a month. The initiative aims to create a centralized cancer registry, helping authorities track incidence and prevalence effectively. The Mehdi Nawaz Jung Institute of Oncology in Hyderabad serves as the nodal agency for data validation and coordination. This step enhances early detection, better resource allocation, and supports national-level cancer control strategies through systematic data collection and reporting.

The Yoga Mahotsav–2026 was organized in Maharashtra, specifically at Lonar in the Buldhana district. The event marked the beginning of the 75-day countdown to the International Day of Yoga 2026. It was held at a geologically significant site and witnessed a large gathering performing yoga, even setting a record in the Asia Book of Records. Organised by the Ministry of Ayush through the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, the event also promoted various yoga protocols and campaigns to encourage daily practice and improve public health.

Uttar Pradesh launched a statewide campaign on April 7, 2026, to create a comprehensive Farmer Registry aimed at ensuring transparent and efficient delivery of agricultural benefits. The initiative involves setting up registration camps at Gram Sachivalayas across the state, where local officials like Gram Pradhans and Lekhpals assist farmers. The campaign also focuses on building a reliable digital database to address land record issues and streamline direct financial assistance. With millions of farmers already linked to PM-Kisan, this initiative strengthens governance, improves data accuracy, and enhances the effectiveness of welfare schemes.
