Lucknow hosted the national workshop on the SUMAN Roadmap 2030, organised by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on September 2–3, 2026. The roadmap aims to achieve zero preventable maternal and newborn deaths by 2030 by strengthening the continuum of care. It focuses on high-priority states and districts with high maternal mortality while also providing a framework for all States and Union Territories. The workshop also featured the launch of Birth Waiting Home guidelines, IEC materials, and a dedicated video to support the implementation of SUMAN initiatives and improve maternal healthcare outcomes.

Chennai hosted the India Valves 2026 national conference, where Vice President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan officially launched the India Valve Registry on September 5, 2026. The registry is a collaborative multicentre initiative designed to securely collect de-identified real-world data on transcatheter valve interventions. Its primary goal is to generate India-specific clinical evidence that can support better medical decision-making for valvular and structural heart diseases. The initiative also supports the broader national vision of achieving a Viksit Bharat and Swasth Bharat by 2047 through the development of a self-reliant healthcare ecosystem based on indigenous medical data.

New Delhi launched the revised Delhi Solar Energy Policy on September 2, 2026, under which eligible households can receive 3 kW rooftop solar systems at zero upfront cost. The initiative aims to cover 2.30 lakh households and add 500 MW of rooftop solar capacity by March 2027. Eligible domestic consumers must have an average monthly electricity consumption of up to 400 units during FY 2025–26. The scheme combines central support of ₹78,000 under PM Surya Ghar with an equal state subsidy and an additional top-up. It also provides free operation and maintenance for the first five years.

Bengaluru will host the 16th edition of Aero India from February 8 to 12, 2027, at Air Force Station, Yelahanka. Aero India is a biennial international air show and aviation exhibition recognised as Asia’s largest air show and a major global platform for the aerospace and defence industries. The event is organised by the Department of Defence Production under the Ministry of Defence. It aims to showcase aerospace and defence capabilities, promote investments and technology exchanges, encourage defence exports, and support India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision. The event also provides opportunities for Indian MSMEs and start-ups to participate in global aerospace and defence supply chains.

Mohali was the location where India’s first “Green Forge” complex was inaugurated at the National Agri-food & Biomanufacturing Institute (BRIC-NABI). The facility is designed for controlled simulation, cultivation, and experimentation involving genetically modified (GM) crops. It can recreate environmental conditions such as light, humidity, and temperature and uses Artificial Intelligence and advanced simulation technologies to assess crop suitability across different geographical regions. The complex is part of broader efforts to strengthen India’s biotechnology ecosystem. The initiative also connects with the National Bio-Foundry Network, space biotechnology research with ISRO, and sustainability projects supporting India’s Net Zero 2070 goals.
