The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) involved in the grant agreement with Novartis, is located in Mohali, Punjab. Established in 1991, it is the first national-level institute in pharmaceutical sciences in India and was later designated as an Institute of National Importance in 1998. The institute plays a significant role in advancing pharmaceutical research and education. The collaboration with Novartis under the Development Pioneer Grant aims to support innovative research aligned with industry needs, strengthening the link between academic research and practical healthcare solutions.

Bhubaneswar, the Vishwa Sutra – Weaves of India for the World initiative was launched during the 61st Femina Miss India event held in this city. The initiative aims to promote Indian handloom heritage on a global platform by integrating traditional weaves with international design inspirations. It showcases 30 different weaves from various states, aligning with the government’s 5F framework to boost the textile sector. Hosting the launch in Bhubaneswar highlights Odisha’s growing role in cultural and fashion events, while also emphasising the importance of preserving and modernising India’s handloom industry.

New Delhi introduced the draft Electric Vehicle Policy 2.0 (2026–2030) to boost the adoption of electric vehicles and reduce pollution levels. The policy includes significant incentives such as tax exemptions, subsidies for electric two-wheelers and commercial vehicles, and scrappage benefits for older vehicles. It also outlines strict measures like banning new petrol-powered two-wheelers from 2028 and mandating electric transitions for certain vehicle categories. These steps are part of a broader effort to tackle air pollution and promote sustainable urban mobility in the capital city of India.

The Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first institute under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) to receive ISO 15189:2022 accreditation. This recognition was granted for its Biochemistry and Haematology laboratory standards by NABL. Located in Bengaluru, the institute has demonstrated remarkable progress in healthcare services, conducting over 1.52 lakh laboratory investigations and serving thousands of patients. The accreditation highlights its transition to globally recognised quality standards and reflects advancements in infrastructure, including the adoption of fully automated diagnostic systems under the Ministry of Ayush initiatives.

In April 2026, Anant Ambani announced the establishment of Vantara University, a unique global institution focused on wildlife conservation, animal welfare, and veterinary sciences. The university is located in Jamnagar, Gujarat, which is also home to the Vantara wildlife conservation initiative developed by Reliance Industries. This initiative aims to provide advanced education and research opportunities in conservation science. The project draws inspiration from historic centers of learning like Nalanda University, combining ancient ideals of knowledge with modern scientific approaches to address global environmental and wildlife challenges.
