The foundation stone for a new MSME Technology Centre was laid at Khizarsarai in Gaya, Bihar, by Union Minister for MSME Jitan Ram Manjhi and Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on June 15, 2026. The project involves an investment of ₹170 crore and aims to strengthen industrial development and skill enhancement in the region. The centre will feature advanced facilities such as an Industry 4.0 laboratory, production and training blocks, and hostel accommodations. It is expected to train around 7,000 individuals annually and provide technical support to more than 1,000 MSMEs each year, benefiting the broader Magadh region of Bihar.

The Zojila Tunnel Project is a landmark infrastructure development aimed at ensuring year-round connectivity between Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The tunnel, stretching approximately 14 km between Baltal and Minamarg on NH-1, will overcome the seasonal disruptions caused by heavy snowfall at Zojila Pass. The project is expected to reduce travel time between Sonamarg and Minamarg from two hours to about 30 minutes. Equipped with modern safety systems, including fire detection, ventilation, and CCTV surveillance, the tunnel will improve transportation, strengthen regional connectivity, and support economic and strategic development in the region.

The Land Port Management System (LPMS), known as 'VINIMAY', was inaugurated in New Delhi by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on June 9, 2026. The system is designed to modernise land port operations through a Single Electronic Window, significantly reducing manual paperwork and improving efficiency. It incorporates advanced technologies such as Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and real-time data sharing among multiple government agencies. VINIMAY supports India's Smart Borders Strategy by enhancing border management, facilitating trade, reducing processing delays, and strengthening the country’s security and economic infrastructure through digital transformation.

Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh has been chosen for the development of a 250 MW solar power project on vacant defence land. Approved by the Ministry of Defence on June 9, 2026, the project will cover around 850 acres and will include a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), making it the first large-scale renewable energy project of its kind on defence land in India. NTPC Limited will develop the project through a competitive bidding process. The initiative aims to enhance energy security for defence establishments, promote the use of renewable energy, and reduce dependence on conventional grid power, contributing to sustainable infrastructure development.
