Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh laid foundation for various development projects in Union Territory, Diu. Mr. Rajnath Singh laid foundation for Construction of a pile jetty in Vanakbara village at a cost of Rs.3.77 crores, first phase of sewerage network, including a common sewage treatment plant, in Diu costing Rs.20.70 crores, building of an Annexe Circuit House at a cost of Rs. 20.60 crores and New school buildings at Kamleshwar, Zampa and Ghoghla. In context of this news, it is important to note that Diu has been selected for Central Government's Smart Cities Mission. A total of Rs. 1400 crore would be spent on developmental projects under this programme.
