The theme song ‘Vote Ka Tyohar’ was launched in Jammu and Kashmir to boost voter participation for the upcoming assembly elections. Released by the Chief Electoral Officer, Pandurang K Pole, the song aims to motivate voters across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The elections are set to begin on September 18, 2024, across seven districts in both the Jammu and Kashmir divisions. The initiative highlights the significance of voting and encourages active involvement from the youth and eligible voters in the democratic process.

Operation Sadbhav is a humanitarian relief operation launched by the Government of India to provide assistance to countries affected by Typhoon Yagi, including Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar. The operation is part of India's broader effort to contribute to Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) within the ASEAN region, aligning with its 'Act East Policy'. Under Operation Sadbhav, India has extended assistance worth US$ 1 million to Vietnam, including 35 tons of humanitarian aid, such as water purification items, blankets, and solar lanterns.

Kerala reported its first confirmed Nipah virus infection of the year, with a 24-year-old man from Malappuram succumbing to the disease. Health Minister Veena George confirmed the case after testing by Kozhikode Medical College Hospital and the National Institute of Virology. In response, 16 committees were formed to trace contacts and prevent further spread. Kerala has experienced outbreaks of the Nipah virus in the past, and the state's health authorities are actively working to contain the situation.
