The Nile River is the longest in the world. It is about 6,650 kilometres long and flows through 11 countries in Africa: Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Sudan, Sudan, and Egypt. The Nile River is a major source of water and transportation for many of these countries.
