Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) is the renamed and revamped version of Matritva Sahyog Yojana under which government would provide Rs. 6000 aid to pregnant and lactating mothers for the first live birth. The main objective is 1. Providing the partial compensation to working women against their wage loss and ensure their proper rest nutrition, 2. Improving the health of pregnant women and lactating mothers and reducing the effects of under-nutrition through cash incentives.
