The Jharkhand government has approved pension and Other Backward Classes (OBC) status for the transgender community. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday, September 14, 2023. The pension will be given to transgender people who are above the age of 60 years and have no other source of income. The OBC status will give transgender people access to government jobs, educational institutions, and other benefits.

The Uttar Pradesh government has formed a committee to implement the Nand Baba Milk Mission. The committee will be headed by the Chief Secretary and will have representatives from the departments of animal husbandry, dairy development, finance, and planning. The mission aims to achieve a milk production of 500 million tonnes by 2027.
