President U Min Aung Hlaing of Myanmar arrived in Gaya, Bihar, on May 30, 2026, for a five-day official visit to India. The visit was aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation and reinforcing long-standing civilizational and cultural ties between the two neighbouring countries. During the visit, he paid respects at the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya, a globally significant Buddhist pilgrimage site. The agenda also included high-level discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, participation in a business forum, and engagements with industry leaders in Mumbai. The visit marked his first trip to India since assuming the office of President in April 2026.
