India and Russia held the 5th Sub Working Group (Land) meeting on May 24, 2026, under the framework of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Military Technical Cooperation. The discussions focused on strengthening operational synergy, enhancing bilateral military capabilities, and expanding cooperation in areas such as joint production of weapons, military hardware, space exploration, energy security, and fertiliser supply chains. During the visit, the Russian delegation also toured the Shatrujeet Brigade of the Indian Army. The meeting reflected the long-standing strategic partnership between India and Russia and their commitment to deepening defence and military cooperation across multiple sectors.
