The Padma Bridge Rail Link in Bangladesh was funded by China, as part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). India, Japan, and South Korea are all major development partners of Bangladesh, but they did not fund the Padma Bridge Rail Link. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina marked a historic moment in the country’s infrastructure development by inaugurating the 82-km Padma Bridge Rail Link.
