Montenegro officially joined North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and thereby became the 29 member country. Foreign Minister Srdjan Darmanovic submitted the small Balkan state's official accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation in a ceremony at the US State Department.
