Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (83 year old), Crown prince of Kuwait (State of Kuwait) sworn in as new emir(16th Emir of Kuwait) during a session of the National Assembly in Kuwait. He succeeds Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (91 year old), who died on September29, 2020 in United States. The Emir of Kuwait is the commander in chief of all defence forces and the Crown Prince is the deputy commander.
