Which among the following is the first country to ratify the trade deal to replace NAFTA?

[A]. Argentina
[B]. Brazil
[C]. Canada
[D]. Mexico

Answer: Option D

Explanation:

Mexico became the first country to ratify the trade deal to replace 25 year old North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). The new trade deal is known as known as the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). The USMCA (NAFTA 2.0) has been modified to include changes for automakers, stricter labor and environmental standards, intellectual property protections, and digital trade provisions. US President Donald Trump, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexico's then-President Enrique Pena Nieto had signed the deal in November 2018 but it still needs to be ratified by all three governments.
