India and Sri Lanka have agreed to enhance collaboration in security and defence spheres in several fields, including regional security, controlling drug smuggling and human trafficking. Defence Secretary of India Sanjay Mitra and Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena's meeting in Colombo resulted in this agreement. Sirisena requested to expand the number of trainers from India and Defence Secretary agreed to look into the probability of intensifying training facilities.
