India is collaborating with the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) in Myanmar to secure rare-earth mineral samples and diversify its supply chain beyond China. The KIA, founded in 1961, controls the Chipwe-Pangwa mining belt in Kachin state, a key source of heavy rare earths such as dysprosium and terbium. These minerals are crucial for advanced technologies, including EVs, missiles, medical equipment, and renewable energy systems. As China dominates global rare earth production and processing, India’s partnership with Myanmar aims to strengthen supply security, reduce strategic dependence, and support the goals of the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM) launched in 2025.

The International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) 2025 concluded in Sharjah, underscoring the critical role of communication in improving quality of life. The event featured the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA) under the theme “Communication for Quality of Life.” Experts from around the globe participated in discussions on pressing issues such as artificial intelligence, food security, health, education, and sustainability. They highlighted the importance of ethical, human-centered communication in effective policymaking. On 12th September 2025, India voted in favour of the UN General Assembly resolution endorsing the “New York Declaration” on the two-state solution for Palestine. The resolution, backed by 142 nations, reaffirmed the global commitment to establishing a sovereign and independent Palestine coexisting peacefully with Israel within secure and recognised borders. India’s vote was consistent with its long-standing position of supporting Palestine’s statehood while recognizing Israel’s right to live in peace and security. This balanced diplomatic approach reinforces India’s role as a proponent of peace through dialogue, even as it maintains strong strategic ties with both Palestine and Israel.

Sushila Karki, Nepal’s first female Chief Justice, has been sworn in as the country’s first woman Prime Minister, serving as an interim leader after Gen-Z-led protests toppled the previous government. Known for her integrity and fearless stance against corruption, she emerged as the consensus choice among youth representatives, the Nepali Army, and the President. Her judicial career includes landmark contributions, and she previously faced political resistance due to her zero-tolerance approach to corruption. At 73, her appointment represents both a generational and ideological shift in Nepalese politics, symbolizing a push toward transparency, accountability, and democratic renewal in the nation.

IIM Ahmedabad launched its first global campus in Dubai on 11 September 2025, marking a historic step in the internationalization of Indian higher education. The inauguration, held at Dubai International Academic City, was attended by leaders from both India and the UAE, including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The Dubai campus begins operations with a one-year global MBA program for professionals, aligning with Dubai’s vision of becoming an education and innovation hub. This milestone strengthens India-UAE educational cooperation and reflects IIMA’s vision of being “Indian in spirit, global in outlook.”
