The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is expected to become operational in the Seychelles by the end of 2026, as announced by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. The initiative reflects the growing strategic and economic partnership between India and Seychelles. Besides digital payment integration, the two countries cooperate in areas such as health, education, renewable energy, and social infrastructure. Maritime security remains a major focus to address challenges like illegal fishing, piracy, and drug trafficking in the Indian Ocean Region. Both nations are also exploring a Comprehensive Economic Partnership to strengthen bilateral trade and reviewing development projects supported under India's Special Economic Package.

Italy has become the UNESCO World Heritage Capital with 61 protected sites, the highest number recorded by any country. These include 55 Cultural Heritage Sites and 6 Natural Heritage Sites, reflecting the nation’s extraordinary historical, artistic, architectural, and natural wealth. Italy’s rich legacy, spanning the Roman Empire, the Renaissance, medieval towns, archaeological treasures, and diverse landscapes, has earned it global recognition. The UNESCO designation helps preserve sites of Outstanding Universal Value, promotes sustainable tourism, supports conservation efforts, encourages international cooperation, and strengthens cultural awareness while contributing significantly to Italy’s tourism-driven economy.

Seychelles and India announced 19 major initiatives aimed at strengthening their strategic partnership across key sectors such as maritime security, defence, healthcare, digital payments, education, infrastructure, space cooperation, and climate resilience. The agreements were unveiled during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit and discussions with President Patrick Herminie in Victoria. The partnership also reinforces India's MAHASAGAR vision for promoting security, sustainable development, and regional cooperation in the Indian Ocean. Additional measures included defence assistance, humanitarian aid, financial support, and technology collaboration, highlighting the growing importance of India–Seychelles relations in the Indo-Pacific region.

India organised its first-ever mango promotion events in Iceland to expand the global reach of its premium mango varieties and strengthen agricultural exports to Northern Europe. The initiative was organised by the Embassy of India in Reykjavik and APEDA, showcasing renowned varieties such as Dasheri, Chausa, Langra, and Kesar. The events also highlighted opportunities under the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA), which is expected to improve market access and trade cooperation. Iceland represents a promising premium market for imported fruits, making it an important destination for India's export diversification strategy.

India completed its first commercial sea shipment of Banganapalle mangoes to Singapore, marking an important milestone in expanding agricultural exports through cost-effective and sustainable logistics. The 5-metric-tonne consignment was coordinated by APEDA under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry in collaboration with the ICAR–Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture (CISH). Dispatched on June 11, 2026, and delivered on June 24, 2026, the shipment demonstrated the feasibility of sea freight for exporting premium fruits. This initiative is expected to improve global market access for Indian mangoes while reducing transportation costs and environmental impact.
