On 25th March 2018, International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade was observed all over the world. When and Why: The International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade is observed every year on 25th March. This day honours and remembers people who suffered and died due to the slavery system. It also aims to create awareness on the hazards of racism. The transatlantic slave trade was the largest forced migration in the world history. In memory of the victims of transatlantic slave trade the United Nations declared 25 March as the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade in 2007. Theme: The theme for International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade 2018 is: "Remember Slavery: Triumphs and Struggles for Freedom and Equality".
