World Cotton Day is celebrated on October 7th each year. It is a day to celebrate the importance of cotton in the global economy and to promote fair trade practices in the cotton industry. The day was established in 2019 by the Cotton Four, a group of four cotton-producing countries in sub-Saharan Africa. The Cotton Four proposed the day to the World Trade Organization to raise awareness of the challenges faced by cotton farmers in developing countries.
