National Forest Martyrs Day is observed every year on September 11 in India to honour the brave individuals who sacrificed their lives protecting the nation’s forests, wildlife, and biodiversity. This day commemorates the tragic Khejarli massacre of 1730, in which Amrita Devi Bishnoi and 363 members of her community sacrificed their lives to protect sacred Khejri trees. This observance emphasizes the importance of environmental conservation and the sacrifices made by forest protectors throughout history.

World Suicide Prevention Day is observed annually on September 10 to raise awareness about suicide prevention, reduce stigma, and emphasize the preventability of suicides. This day was established in 2003 by the International Association for Suicide Prevention and the World Health Organization (WHO). The theme for 2024-2026 is "Changing the Narrative on Suicide".

The 5th Observance of the UN International Day to Protect Education from Attack is scheduled for September 9, 2024, in Doha, Qatar. This event, established through a UN General Assembly resolution, is aimed at raising awareness about the need to protect education in conflict zones. Led by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, the day brings global attention to the importance of safeguarding education against attacks and various barriers faced by students in conflict-affected areas.

The International Day of Police Cooperation is observed on September 7 each year. This date was selected by the United Nations to honour the foundation of INTERPOL’s predecessor, the International Criminal Police Commission (ICPC), which was established on September 7, 1923. The observance, designated through a UN General Assembly resolution adopted in December 2022, also highlights the need for police integrity and collaboration among global law enforcement agencies.
