The Union Home Ministry has approved a 10% horizontal reservation for government school graduates in Puducherry pursuing undergraduate medical education. This reservation policy, effective immediately, will benefit students who have cleared the NEET examination and completed their education in government schools starting from standard one.

Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister for Education, launched the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Program in India on September 6, 2023. The program is a collaboration between the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Education. It aims to improve the quality of teacher training in India by providing tailored training programs for teachers in higher education institutions.

The Union Ministry of Education has partnered with software giant Adobe to promote creative expression and digital literacy among students and educators through the utilization of Adobe Express. With an ambitious goal of reaching around 20 million students and upskilling 500,000 teachers, this partnership aims to revolutionize the education landscape in India.

The Ministry of Education observes Literacy Week from 1st September to 8th September 2023 to celebrate International Literacy Day and promote literacy in India.

The SABAL Yojana is a comprehensive scheme aimed at empowering specially-abled children in Himachal Pradesh. The scheme will provide special care to such children in around 400 schools across Hamirpur, Solan and Shimla districts.
