The Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) in Mumbai was inaugurated by Prime Minister to develop an industry-ready workforce for Industry 4.0. This initiative aims to enhance India's skill capital by providing training in cutting-edge technologies like mechatronics, artificial intelligence, data analytics, industrial automation, and robotics. Established through a collaboration between the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Tata IIS, this institute is poised to play a significant role in shaping India's future workforce. Alongside the IIS, PM's also inaugurated the Vidya Samiksha Kendra in Maharashtra to improve education governance and outcomes.

Niti Aayog has proposed the development of 'EduCities' in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) to enhance higher education and boost its status as a leading education hub. This initiative aims to stimulate job creation through improved infrastructure and connectivity. The proposed EduCities will integrate colleges, universities, housing, and recreational facilities, spanning 100 hectares. By establishing these educational hubs, Niti Aayog seeks to capitalize on Mumbai's status as the financial capital, leveraging its IT and data hub, and the thriving industrial belt between Mumbai and Pune to drive education and economic growth.

Maharashtra is set to establish a Tribal University in Nashik to promote the education and development of tribal students. The university will offer education from Kindergarten to Post-graduation, with 80% of the seats reserved for tribal students. The governor of Maharashtra, who holds the power to establish universities under the Maharashtra University Act 1984, announced the foundation of this institution, aimed at providing quality education to improve opportunities for tribal communities.

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) achieved the No. 1 ranking globally for Networking in LinkedIn's Global MBA Ranking 2024. This accomplishment highlights IIFT's strong global connections, academic excellence, and research. Additionally, it secured the 51st position among the top 100 MBA programs globally, underlining the institution's dedication to building strategic partnerships with alumni, corporations, and international organizations.

In the IIRF 2024 engineering rankings, IIT Bombay is recognized as the top government engineering college. This prestigious position reflects IIT Bombay's exceptional performance in academics, research, and placements.
