IIM Kozhikode has launched ‘Gyanodaya’, a Centre for Pedagogical Innovation and Publishing, as part of its Vision 2047. This initiative is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) and aims to transform the landscape of management education. Gyanodaya focuses on blending Indian knowledge systems with contemporary teaching methodologies, emphasising inclusivity, innovation, and global relevance. Key components include the development of peer-reviewed academic materials, the introduction of novel pedagogical models, and the publication of original case studies and research. Operated through IIMK’s in-house manuscript platform Pandulipi, Gyanodaya is positioned as a global hub for educational research and knowledge dissemination.

In the QS Best Student Cities Rankings 2026, New Delhi was recognised as the world’s most affordable student city, earning a top score of 96.5 on the affordability index. This achievement reflects the city’s low cost of education and living, combined with its academic strengths through institutions like IIT Delhi and the University of Delhi. Delhi also performed well in employer activity, ranking within the global top 50 for graduate employability. Alongside Delhi, other Indian cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai also climbed in rankings, highlighting India’s growing presence as a global education hub under initiatives like NEP 2020 and Study in India.

The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, is setting up its first regional campus in Shillong, Meghalaya. This initiative is funded by ₹100.95 crore from the PM-DevINE scheme, which aims to accelerate growth in the Northeast region. The new campus, located in New Shillong Township within the Knowledge City cluster, will focus on specialized training, research, and policy advisory in areas such as corporate governance, ESG, CSR, and insolvency. This move reflects the government’s commitment to regional empowerment and integrating the Northeast into the national development agenda.

The Bharat Forecasting System (BFS), launched on May 26, 2025, represents a groundbreaking advancement in India’s meteorological infrastructure. Developed by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, the system delivers ultra-local weather forecasts at a resolution of 6 km x 6 km—currently the highest in the world. This level of detail is a substantial upgrade from the earlier 12 km models. BFS operates on the supercomputer Arka, capable of 11.77 petaflops and equipped with 33 petabytes of storage. It significantly reduces data processing time from 10 hours to just 4, enabling rapid and accurate forecasting for critical sectors like agriculture, disaster response, and public safety.

Mizoram has been officially recognized as India’s first fully literate state, a significant achievement in the realm of education and social progress. The declaration was made by Chief Minister Lalduhoma during a ceremony in Aizawl, attended by prominent dignitaries, including Minister Jayant Chaudhary and Dr. Vanlalthlana. This milestone was achieved through persistent efforts, including comprehensive door-to-door literacy surveys and effective educational initiatives conducted under the ULLAS – Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram. Surpassing a literacy rate of 95%, Mizoram’s accomplishment highlights the impact of focused governance and community-driven education models in uplifting social indicators.
