The Assam Regiment of the Indian Army won a gold medal at Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2026, an international military patrolling exercise held in Wales, United Kingdom. Organised by the British Army, the exercise evaluates military teams on physical endurance, leadership, tactical skills, navigation, communication, and decision-making under challenging field conditions. Established in 1959, it is popularly known as the “Olympics of Military Patrolling” because of its demanding physical and tactical requirements. The exercise generally involves eight-member patrol teams operating for approximately 48 hours. The Assam Regiment’s achievement highlights the Indian Army’s professional capabilities and strengthens international military cooperation through shared training experiences.
