Air Marshal Tarun Chaudhry assumed the appointment of Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the Central Air Command on June 1, 2026. He took over the responsibility from Air Marshal Balakrishnan Manikantan, who retired after completing 40 years of distinguished service. Commissioned into the Fighter stream of the Indian Air Force in December 1989, Air Marshal Chaudhry has held several important operational, administrative, and diplomatic assignments. His experience includes serving as Defence Attachee in Sweden and holding senior positions related to projects, acquisitions, and human resource management within the Indian Air Force and integrated defence structures.
