The 3rd Battalion of the Naga Regiment, also known as 3 Naga, received the prestigious President’s Colour award in a ceremony at the Kumaon Regimental Centre (KRC) in Ranikhet.

The 20th round of India-China military talks was held on October 9 and 10, 2023 at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting point on the Indian side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The talks were led by Lieutenant General Anupam Bokhar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 14 Corps of the Indian Army, and Major General Yang Lin, the Commander of the South Xinjiang Military District of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).

India signed a defence cooperation agreement with Italy on October 10, 2023, in Rome. The agreement was signed by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his Italian counterpart Guido Crosetto.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is a state-run aerospace and defence manufacturer in India. It is the largest aerospace company in India and produces a wide range of aircraft, helicopters, engines, and other aerospace components. HAL delivered the first trainer version of the LCA Tejas to the Indian Air Force in 2023. The Tejas trainer is a twin-seater aircraft that will be used to train IAF pilots on the Tejas fighter aircraft. It can also serve as a fighter aircraft when needed.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced plans to retire its iconic MiG-21 fighter jets and replace them with the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mark 1A. This is part of the IAF's ongoing efforts to modernize and replace its ageing Russian-origin aircraft.
