The Indian Air Force (IAF) took a significant step in enhancing its pilot training capabilities with the inauguration of the C-295 Full Motion Simulator at Air Force Station Agra. The Defence Minister inaugurated the Major Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing Museum of Valour at Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, honouring the legacy of Major Bob Khathing. This museum commemorates his pivotal role in securing Tawang for India in 1951, amidst concerns of Chinese encroachment into Tibet and potential border realignment. By establishing the Indian administration in the region, Major Khathing's bravery and diplomacy played a significant part in shaping India's northeastern borders. The 3rd edition of the India-Australia joint military exercise, AUSTRAHIND, commenced on November 8, 2024. This exercise is being held at the Foreign Training Node in Pune, Maharashtra, involving 140 personnel from India, including members of the DOGRA Regiment and the Indian Air Force, alongside 120 Australian personnel from the 13th Light Horse Regiment. Pune, a prominent training location, was chosen to enhance cooperation and coordination between the Indian and Australian forces in joint military operations.

This 10-day exercise aims to enhance military readiness across India’s eastern front, particularly following the recent disengagement of Indian and Chinese troops at key friction points in eastern Ladakh. The exercise involves the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force working together to improve operational synergy and assess combat readiness. It includes the deployment of various military units, aircraft, helicopters, and naval commandos, strengthening India's defence capabilities in the eastern region.
