The S-400 surface-to-air missile system, developed by Russia, is a sophisticated air defence system that India is acquiring to enhance its military capabilities. Recently, delays in the delivery of the remaining units were attributed to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. Russia has committed to delivering the last two of the five units to India next year. India has already operationalized three units, which demonstrates the importance of the S-400 system in India's defence strategy. The S-400 is known for its ability to track and engage multiple targets simultaneously, making it a vital component of India's air defence infrastructure.

The third 25T Bollard Pull Tug, Ashva, was launched by Cmde Ajay Yadav at Titagarh Rail Systems Limited in Kolkata, bolstering India's "Make in India" initiative and "Atmanirbhar Bharat" vision. This tug will enhance the Indian Navy's capabilities in assisting ships and submarines with berthing, maneuvering, and firefighting, while also supporting search and rescue operations. The Ashva is one of six 25T BP Tugs contracted to be built by Titagarh Rail Systems Limited. Its launch underscores India's commitment to strengthening its naval operational readiness.

NSA Ajit Doval visited France to enhance India-France defence cooperation and engage in discussions on global security challenges. His meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron and Armed Forces Minister Sebastien Lecornu emphasized key defence projects, including Rafale Marine and Scorpene submarines, as well as space collaboration. This visit reinforces India's commitment to deepening strategic ties with France under the "Horizon 2047" roadmap, marking a long-term partnership between the two nations.

The Indian Army is set to receive its first three AH-64E Apache attack helicopters from Boeing in December, following a delay attributed to supply chain issues. This acquisition is part of a larger deal signed in February 2020, which includes six Apache helicopters at a cost of approximately $800 million. The Apaches will significantly enhance the Army's capabilities, particularly in challenging terrains. Additionally, Indigenous Light Combat Helicopters from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. are also being prepared for deployment in Ladakh by 2024-25, further bolstering India's aerial defence strategy.

The 41st Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Commanders’ Conference was inaugurated by Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh in New Delhi. The conference focused on addressing evolving maritime security challenges and highlighted strategic discussions for the future of the ICG. The Defence Minister emphasized the ongoing construction of 31 ICG ships by Indian shipyards, with a total worth of over Rs 4,000 crore, aimed at enhancing India's maritime capabilities.
