Justice D. Krishnakumar, a seasoned judge with specialization in Constitutional law, has taken over as the Chief Justice of Manipur High Court. Previously, he served as the seniormost judge at the Madras High Court, following his appointment on April 7, 2016. His appointment comes after Justice Siddharth Mridul's retirement on November 21, 2024, upon turning 62. Justice Krishnakumar's vast experience and integrity earned him the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium for this prestigious position.
