Kiren Rijiju was appointed with an additional charge as the Minister of Food Processing Industries after Pashupati Kumar Paras resigned from the Union Cabinet due to RLJP's exclusion from the NDA seat-sharing deal in Bihar for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. President Droupadi Murmu accepted Paras's resignation and appointed Rijiju to oversee the Food Processing Industries portfolio.

Bina Agarwal and James K.
