The Young Global Leaders (YGL) program by the World Economic Forum recognizes exceptional individuals under the age of 40 who are shaping the future through innovation and leadership. In 2026, Arthur Law was honoured for his contributions to transforming urban living through innovative space solutions. As a co-founder of Storefriendly Asia, he introduced technology-driven storage systems to address space constraints in rapidly growing cities. His work has impacted thousands of households and businesses. Being selected as a YGL places him among a prestigious global network of leaders, including policymakers, entrepreneurs, and change-makers.

The 9th Prof. M.S. Swaminathan Award was presented to Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao in recognition of his significant contributions to climate-resilient agriculture and sustainable natural resource management. Serving as the Director and Vice-Chancellor of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), he has played a key role in developing district-level contingency plans to address climate challenges in agriculture. His efforts in scaling resource conservation technologies across vast agricultural areas have strengthened India’s food security. The award, instituted to honor excellence in agricultural science, also marked the birth centenary of M.S. Swaminathan, a pioneer of India’s Green Revolution.

The Odisha Steel Producers' Association (OSPA), a key body representing major steel and mining companies in the state, elected Asit Tripathy as its President. A former Chief Secretary of Odisha and currently an advisor to Jindal Steel, he brings extensive administrative and industrial experience to the role. Nishita Yogesh Antarkar won the title of Miss Sake India 2026 during the third edition of the event held in Mumbai. A business owner and trained Kathak dancer, she was chosen as the cultural ambassador to represent India at the international level. The competition celebrates cultural exchange between India and Japan, particularly promoting Japanese traditions like sake. As the winner, she will participate in the Miss Sake Japan Finals scheduled in June 2026. The event also featured prominent dignitaries and highlighted Japan’s sake heritage, strengthening cultural ties between the two countries.

Shubhankar Sharma secured victory at the inaugural Boulders Classic 2026, marking a remarkable return to domestic golf after several years.
