Visakhapatnam is the location where INS Taragiri, the fifth Project 17A stealth frigate of the Indian Navy, was officially commissioned. Designed by the Navy’s Warship Design Bureau and built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, the vessel reflects India’s progress in indigenous defence manufacturing. 3 Medals have been assured for India at the Asian Boxing Championships 2026 as three Indian boxers—Nikhat Zareen, Priya, and Preeti Pawar—secured their spots in the semifinals. Navi Mumbai has been selected as the location for a new world-class cricket stadium with a seating capacity of 1,00,000, making it significantly larger than the existing Wankhede Stadium.
